This outdoor basketball model released alongside the iconic Air Bakin in 1997 following the success of various other outdoor basketball models in 1996 such as the Nike Air Shake, Air Rattle and Air Roll. The Bakin and the B-que, with their playful names and bold colours, began the brand’s next chapter of outdoor basketball sneakers with attention to breathability while still remaining durable. The B-que features a heavy canvas upper and high-profile rubber outsole and foam midsole for armor against the asphalt. Shortly after release the model was recalled due to controversy surrounding the heel embroidery's resemblance to the word 'Allah'. Recalled pairs had an adhesive patch stuck over the embroidery. Soon after, the design was changed. This pair in the lesser-seen blue/white womens release, features the original embroidery on the heel. Good overall vintage condition, with some age related marks.
