This outdoor basketball model also released alongside the iconic Air Bakin in 1997 following the success of various other outdoor basketball models in 1996 such as the Nike Air Shake, Air Rattle and Air Roll. The Bakin, B-Que and Air Grill, with their playful names and bold colours, began the brand’s next chapter of outdoor basketball sneakers with attention to breathability while still remaining durable. The Air Grill features a heavily perforated, full leather upper with a high-profile rubber outsole and foam midsole for armor against the asphalt. Shortly after release the model was recalled due to controversy surrounding the heel embroidery. Recalled pairs, like the pair pictured, had an adhesive patch stuck on the heel. This pair remains in good nick, the uppers are in great condition, with some age related marks on the midsole. Super rare! See policies before purchase.
