Air Max 95 Z, Vibram Leaves [2001]
After the success of the Sunder Max, Flight 98 and Flightposite (as well as their use on the golden shoe for Michael Johnson’s Sydney Olympics appearance), zippers were gaining popularity, possibly partly down to the fact that zips are faster to do up than laces? Upon release the 95 Z wasn’t a huge hit, mainly down to the fact that the lace stays on the Air Max 95 are integral to its design and the new stretch zip shroud covered them completely. Despite this, we still love the 95 Z along with pretty much any other Nike model to feature a zip. The 95 Z has never seen a re-release, subsequently meaning that no pair with its original sole will be wearable due to midsole crumble. This candy red pair has been re-soled with a Vibram leaves sole unit featuring a white midsole and a black outsole with white speckles.
Since the pictures the patent leather has peeled.
