Contrary to popular belief, the Air Max 97, designed by the esteemed Christian Tresser, wasn’t inspired by Japanese Bullet Trains. In fact, Tresser was inspired by water droplets/ripples, titanium mountain bikes and mountain bike components! Marketeers at Nike came up with the name ‘Silver Bullet’ to highlight the silhouettes aerodynamic aesthetic, hence the common Bullet Train misconception. Not only was it the first Nike model to feature a full-length visible Air unit, it was also the first to feature concealed lace-loops. This promo-sample pair from 2015 remain in a good, used condition. See policies before purchase.
