Air Zoom Vitesse [2005]

This silhouette was designed by John Hvalacs and released in the autumn of 2005. Hvalacs was responsible for some of Nike's greatest running models throughout the late 90s and mid 2000s including the Air Metal Max, Air Max Purify, Air Torino GT and the Nike Beach Sport. The idea behind the Vitesse was to build a running shoe that could withstand 1000km of use and weigh less than 300 grams. He coined the term 'LightStrong' which meant maximizing durability and minimising weight. The model featured a smart use of existing materials such as Zoom Air, a PU/EVA combination and a unique pleated upper design. These are a great bit of design and certainly do not come up for sale very often!
