Designed by acclaimed industrial designer @marcnewsonofficial and named after a Russian dog that went to space, the Zvezdochka was a truly revolutionary and innovative piece of footwear design that paved the way for several breakthroughs such as Fly Knit technology and even 3D printing. It was the first Nike model to ever be completely designed on a computer. The customisable, modular design was inspired by Newson’s trip to the Russian Space Institute, he wanted to design a multi-purpose shoe for astronauts. The shoe consists of a rubber outer exo-skeleton, an interlocking insole and a mesh sock liner featuring Zoom Air technology. The Zvezdochka even won the 2005 Chicago Atheneum Good Design Award. Despite being unpopular on release this model is now incredibly hard to come by, and gaining popularity. Used with age related marks, but plenty of life left and no major flaws.
