NikeLab x Riccardo Tisci Free Train Force Flyknit [2016]

This performance silhouette blended high-fashion aesthetics with elite training specifications. Designer Riccardo Tisci worked closely with Nike’s then-Senior Design Director for NikeLab, Jarrett Reynolds, to execute the vision. The design was inspired by the athleticism of the Rio Summer Olympics and Tisci’s own floral and kaleidoscopic interests. Technically, the shoe featured a breathable Flyknit upper, with a contrasting white printed strip down the centre. Other details include a mid-cut collar for stability during dynamic movements and an auxetic tri-star Free outsole that expanded and contracted with every footstrike to provide natural flexibility. The functional purpose focused on versatile gym training, while the design purpose utilised a multicoloured palette to highlight the intricate knit pattern. Love the proportions on this one, the tooling is amazing. Good, used condition. Quite rare these days.
