In 2009, Lunarlon technology was a fresh innovation for Nike, marking its early stages. To introduce the new Lunar Wood sneaker, Nike Sportswear collaborated with Danish brand Wood Wood, reimagining the classic ACG Wildwood by integrating Lunar cushioning into the midsole, as well as Nike+, the same running tech seen in the Zoom Moire. Understanding the sneaker would likely be more urban than outdoor, Wood Wood drew inspiration from Scandinavian cityscapes and late-night escapades. The design reflected graffiti culture and nocturnal adventures in a cold, wet environment. The Lunar Wood featured a rubberized mudguard and ripstop nylon upper, treated with a nano-coating for water resistance. Its color palette included Black and Blue Sapphire, complemented by Cool Grey on the Lunar sole and speckled midsole. Aside from the details, this particular shoe also made it into Gary Warnett's top 25 ACG models of all time. In his words "these are classic – one of the best collaborations of the last ten years. Graffiti shoe concepts are generally abysmal (Futura, Stash and 12oz Prophet projects were exceptions), but this model took the idea and gave it an authenticity that didn’t need to resort to laser-embossed tags or lame throw-up graphics. Themed on late-night graffiti missions and the connection between ACG and that culture, the branding on this design, the introduction of a completely new silhouette and some special packaging on a small run of this TZ drop was flawless." In our opinion this is somewhat of a forgotten, underrated collaboration. These remain in great condition, 2x heel pods missing.
